A stop at Tanners's Swiss Cheese was a near daily occurence for my grandfather C.W Hunt. Just as in the culinary industry it is a well known fact the the fresher the product the better the taste, and Tanner's didn't just make and sell cheese, they also had a selection of deli meats, with chip chopped ham being a favorite. I was actually given a brief tour of the Tanner facility and was able to observe first hand those enormous cheese wheels pocketed on their shelve compartments in the curing room.
